His many years spent defining business and technical architecture helps him seamlessly take products from ideation and discovery to technical delivery and market go-live. Dan has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Minnesota.

Kerrie is a Director in Google Cloud, Healthcare, and Life Sciences. Focused on strategy, data, architecture and generative AI. Prior to joining Google, Kerrie was Optum’s 1st Technology Fellow and SVP focused on advancing UHG / Optum in artificial intelligence (machine learning and NLP), IoT, genomics, and graph technology. Kerrie led an R&D development team focused on accelerating the adoption of advanced technologies in healthcare.
Prior to Optum, Kerrie was a VP and CTO for an analytics and automation software portfolio at Cisco. The bulk of Kerrie’s career was at the IBM Company where he was appointed to IBM Fellow in 2006, IBM’s highest honor for a scientist or engineer, by the CEO, Sam Palmisano. In IBM Research Kerrie’s area of focus was on cognitive computing, microservices, APIs, digitization, and architectural models. Before joining IBM Research he was the CTO for IBM’s Global Business Services for the Applications Innovation organization.
He appeared on ABC News and in a TED talk when IBM Watson was first introduced describing Watson’s next job. He is the author of three books, the most recent being published in 2021, “AI First Healthcare.”
Kerrie is a graduate of DePaul University in Chicago with a degree in mathematics. Kerrie also holds a Juris Doctorate degree from DePaul University. In 2016, DePaul conferred a Doctor of Humane Letters. Kerrie holds over 30 patents. In 2023 he was elected to the National Academy of Engineering which represents a select group of national and international senior professionals who have distinguished themselves through technical accomplishments.
